During this course, I've always been drawn to the role of producer.
A couple of years have passed since I first started researching and
documenting Gustavo Badini's past, and I'm extremely thrilled to
have the opportunity to tell his story. After finding out that Gustavo's
heroic actions stayed a secret for many years, I was eager to discover
why, and speak to his family members who have never spoken openly
about the tragic events that happened. The story of Badini deserves
the attention of us all, and I feel incredibly privileged to be Director!
year as the importance of social media and online content for the
marketing of a programme becomes all the more relevant. I'm
excited to try this role for the first time - so far I’m liking it. Part of
my role also includes fundraising for the project, so I can't wait to
start planning some fundraising events (and bake lots of cakes!). If
we raise enough, I may be able to join the crew in Italy to film behind
the scenes and some extra content for our promos - fingers crossed!
I enjoy being a team leader, organiser and, most importantly, the
group motivator! There's nothing more satisfying than seeing an
idea come from paper to a fully made, professional programme. I'm
so excited to be working on such a meaningful documentary that I
hope you'll also find insightful and moving. I'm so pleased we've got
such a super talented crew to help bring the story of Badini to life!
my video productions needed work. At uni, I have dedicated a lot
enjoy these two aspects of the industry in particular. Unlike past
of time to perfecting my camera and editing skills, which made me
on substance over style. I'm therefore looking forward to applying my
projects I've worked on, this documentary is historical, so focuses
camera work to this because it's new to me, and it'll be great to learn
some new skills within one of the fields I enjoy the most.
because of this, I've realised that I'd like to work in the sound
department after I graduate. I'm now confident in this role and
I'm eager to start the filming process. Going to Italy to film will
be incredible, and I can't wait to learn more about the history
of the Italian Resistance and Gustavo Badini's life from the
uni projects but in different genres, so I'm eager to brush up on my
skills and practice a new style. It definitely will be challenging, but I
can't wait to start. I have a busy schedule in terms of work outside
uni. so being editor allows me to manage my own time, so I can edit
late at night if this suits me better at the time. My role comes in after
filming, but I'll be on hand to help the crew out during production too!
